It’s no surprise that Beyoncé has shut down the internet….yet again and honestly as if we didn’t already know – but shout out to the Internet was reminding us one more time just how awesome Beyoncé is. I didn’t watch her #beychella performance – as a matter of fact, I’m not a fan or member of the #beyhive, heck the last full album I know from Bey is dangerously in love, anything after that – I’m totally lost lol.
But here’s one thing I know, homegirl is one of if not the greatest performer of all time. What I love about sister Beyoncé is the fact that her consistency leaves you speechless ALL. THE. FREAKIN. TIME! I am convinced, Beyonce’s attitude every day, 24/7 is about going all in and leaving it all there for every single one of her performances. Almost like if she’s not going to give it her all, why even bother?! Here’s something else I know – Bey didn’t become Bey overnight. There’s no denying that Bey has paid her dues to become the icon she is today. There’s no other way to consistently perform and have that level of excellence unless you are focused and committed to only bringing the best version of you every single time.
While this is not a call to join the #beyhive even though I am totally considering filling out my application – it’s simply a reminder that consistency is king. Some of the most successful people in the world are not the smartest but they’re the most consistent people. You cannot outwork consistency no matter how talented and how smart you are. The best way I can illustrate this to you: go to your social media and find 5 people who you think are successful online. Then for the next week, I want you to study how they use their social media. Notice the number of posts, IG stories, Live videos etc that they do on a daily basis. Then scroll all the way down on their timeline as far as it will allow you – take a look at their posts/comments/and likes. I guarantee you will notice that they didn’t always start with thousands of likes/comments or followers. Instead, their consistency is what helped them get to where they are today. The more you’re consistent, the more confidence you gain, the more you grow, the more successful you become. Consistency will always beat talent. Always.
Whether you’re a Beyoncé ‘s fan or not, there’s definitely a lot to learn from Bey and because I’m all for learning and growing here are three points I’ve learned from the queen. I want to leave with you as you work hard at being the best version of you:
1. Your consistency will set you apart from your competition, imitators, and haters. They can copy you but don’t let them outwork you. Ever.
2. Bey isn’t caught up in the noise or the hype – simply put, she is always working. You never know what Bey is doing because she’s not busy letting the world know about it or dictate her every move. All you see is the results she produces….consistently! Learn from Bey, keep your head down, mind your business, work hard and remain consistent.
3. Under promise and over deliver. Even though by now we know that Bey always over delivers, her track record has proven us that even after having a baby (Babies), sister girl can bounce back in literally 2.3 days if she wanted to. When you consistently deliver more than expected, you will never go without because your work will always speak for you. Bottom line always provide more than expected. A little more ALWAYS go a long way.
There are so many lessons we can learn from people we look up to or admire. Whether your person is queen B or your next door neighbor, always be willing to learn from those who have gone before you. Don’t forget to look up 5 successful people on your social media feed and to look around you. Your friends, family, acquaintances that are successful – take a look at their track record because if there’s one thing that I’ve learned about successful people is that they ALWAYS leave clues. Always!
